Confidence: How do You Build It?

“With greater confidence in yourself and your abilities, you will set bigger goals, make bigger plans, and commit yourself to achieving objectives that today you only dream about.”   Brian Tracy

The confidence principle.  You will never rise above your own level of confidence. That stands for any and every area of your life.  If you want to raise your income, grow your influence and build your leadership you must become a more confident person.  HOW?

One very sure way you build confidence is to learn to do what most people fear…speak to a group, a team, an audience.  Confidence grows in two primary ways.

As your knowledge and skills grow your confidence begins to climb. As you apply and become truly adept using that knowledge and those skills your competence grows.  With a surge of competence your confidence level rises too.

First learning new skills, secondly practicing and succeeding at the use of those new skills builds your confidence. That’s the simple two-step process to follow.  Learn it. Do it.

First learn the basics of the visual, the vocal and the verbal delivery to connect and relate to your audience. Next understand and be able and willing to invest the time, energy and effort into the preparation phase.  That includes researching and knowing your subject, your audience and yourself as the presenter.  Then, practice, polish and perform.  Finally, evaluate and analyze ways to improve.

Put those steps to use and do it again. Your reward and your result…CONFIDENCE!
